‘Major decisions will be taken jointly by three heads of Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance’
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Wednesday quashed speculation about Maharashtra getting another Deputy Chief Minister.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader said any such major decision could only be taken by the three heads of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, comprising Shiv Sena, the NCP and the Congress.
Mr. Pawar, speaking in Nashik, remarked, “This MVA government is functioning perfectly well in accordance with the Common Minimum Programme as agreed on by the three parties. If any change is to be made, then it will be done with due consultation among Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Congress president Sonia Gandhi. New Delhi: Newly-appointed Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole on Tuesday said that he has been tasked with making the party number one in the western state. Patole, who called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi here today, said he will aim to achieve the same by 2024.
“After becoming Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee s president, I came to meet and seek the blessings of Sonia ji and Rahul ji. I have been given the responsibility to help the party emerge as No 1 in Maharashtra; I m confident that we ll achieve the target by 2024,” the Maharashtra Congress leader told reporters.
