ESCANABA Bay College Training and Development will be offering a 24-Hour New Miner and an 8-Hour Training in partnership with the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). The three-day “New Miner” training covers all aspects of the initial training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48 & 46. The objective is to train new and inexperienced miners on safety and health hazards, employee rights and responsibilities, and job-related safety procedures. The 8-hour refresher training will be held on the third day of the New Miner training and covers the annual training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR parts 46 & 48. These trainings satisfy the MSHA class room requirements; however, companies training under Part 46 must have an approved training plan.
