Two people are dead in a double shooting that the Hall County Sheriff s Office is investigating as an assisted suicide and suicide, according to the sheriff s office.
A man and a woman, who were in a relationship, were found dead Tuesday afternoon in a car parked outside a business on Thompson Bridge Road near its intersection with Mount Vernon Road, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said they received a call at 1:30 p.m. April 27 from an employee who spotted the dead couple in the car outside Whelchel s Barber Shop.

HALL COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities in Hall County said a man and woman were found dead in a parked car after an apparent assisted suicide followed by a suicide.
Police said the bodies were found in the parking lot outside of a north Hall County business on Tuesday near Ga. Highway 60 and Thompson Bridge Road.
An employee spotted the two bodies in the car and called 911.
Both people in the car suffered what appeared to be a gunshot wound, officials said. It s early in the investigation, but detectives are treating the case as an assisted suicide and suicide. The victims were in a relationship, police said.
Flowery Branch man faces charges of electronic exploitation of minor Joel Malcolm Holden
A 60-year-old Flowery Branch man has been charged with eight counts of electronic exploitation of a minor.
Joel Malcolm Holden is accused of possessing at least four images depicting child sexual abuse material on Nov. 20, 2020, and, that same day, distributing the images by email, according to a Hall County Sheriff’s Office press release on Monday, April 26.
Holden was arrested Friday, April 23, at his home in the 5000 block of Pond Mill Court. Investigators seized electronic devices during a search of his home.
Holden was in the Hall County Jail without bond Monday afternoon.

HALL COUNTY, Ga. - Officials have arrested a Flowery Branch man on charges of having multiple images of the sexual abuse of children.
The Hall County Sheriff s Office says 60-year-old Joel Malcolm Holden has been charged with eight counts of electronic exploitation of a minor following the investigation.
According to officials, the investigation began on April 20 after a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Two men killed in head-on wreck on Athens Highway
Two men were killed in an early morning wreck Saturday, April 24 on Athens Highway at Barrett Road, according to authorities.
The men were identified as Marcos Ezequiel Lopez, 25, of Gainesville, and Toby Langley, 42, of Talmo, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth said Lopez and Langley were the drivers and had no passengers. Booth said both were wearing seatbelts.
Booth said investigators believe Lopez was heading southbound around 2 a.m. Saturday. on Athens Highway in a Toyota Corolla.
Investigators believe Lopez left his lane and hit Langley’s Ford Escape head-on.
