A total of 11 Employment Pass (EP) and S Pass holders working in Singapore s infocomm technology (ICT) industry were found to have submitted false qualifications to the Ministry of Manpower from 2018 to 2020, Minister for Manpower Dr Tan See Leng has shared.
These pass holders have since had their work passes revoked, and have been permanently barred from working in Singapore.

Dr Tan shared that among existing options to plan for higher retirement payouts, members can choose to defer the start of their payouts till age 70, when it comes to the CPF Life scheme.
Singaporeans are already presented with many options to plan for higher retirement payouts, in and out of the CPF system, Minister for Manpower Dr Tan See Leng has clarified. Within the CPF system, members who wish to have higher CPF LIFE payouts can set aside an Enhanced Retirement Sum, which is triple of the Basic Retirement Sum. The prevailing Enhanced Retirement Sum is currently $279,000. The Enhanced Retirement Sum is revised annually, together with the Basic and Full Retirement Sums, he said.

The Tripartite Committee on Workplace Fairness (TCWF) will be spearheaded by the Minister for Manpower himself, alongside NTUC, SNEF, and other employers, unions, and government representatives.
“The government will be addressing these key issues in two ways - enabling Singaporeans to succeed as industries and jobs transform, and tackling workplace discrimination,” Minister Tan said in his speech.
As part of the latter prong, he announced the formation of the Tripartite Committee on Workplace Fairness, details of which are shared below.

Adopting a stricter approach may cause more disruptions than necessary to businesses in Singapore, Minister Dr Tan See Leng explained.
In specific, the questions were:
How many dependant passes have been issued in the past year;
Why were dependant pass holders not promptly disallowed entry when there was a surge in imported COVID-19 cases; and
Whether work permits and dependant passes can be delinked to allow more efficient revisions to border policies in case of a rebound in COVID-19 cases.
