Investigation into armed robbery ongoing
An investigation into an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday at Days Inn & Suites in Frenchtown Township remains ongoing.
Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough is seeking information regarding the incident that happened about 4:05 p.m. at 1900 Welcome Way.
At about 4:05 p.m., two suspects entered the hotel lobby and informed the manager, desk clerk, staff members and several guests that they intended to perform a robbery
Brandishing a gun, the suspects held those gathered in the lobby at gunpoint through the incident, according to deputy reports.
The victims were forced to the floor. After collecting cash from the hotel s safe and register, the suspects fled the scene on foot. No victims were injured during the incident.

MONROE COUNTY, MI – Police are investigating a midday robbery Tuesday at a Monroe County hotel, where two armed men made off with cash from the hotels’ register and safe.
Officers were called at 4:05 p.m. April 20, to the Days Inn & Suites, 1900 Welcome Way, in Frenchtown Township for a reported armed robbery that had just occurred, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Two men, one of them armed with a dark-colored handgun, entered the hotel and announced they were robbing it before forcing the hotel manager, desk clerk, staff and guests to get on the ground, police said.
Monroe woman killed in shooting
A 29-year-old Monroe woman was killed late Monday night in an apparent homicide.
Authorities were dispatched to the 6000 block of Greenwycke Lane in Monroe Charter Township at 9:20 p.m. in response to a report of a shooting.
Responding Monroe County sheriff’s deputies found a deceased female at the residence. She has been identified as Katlynn Nicole Hill, a resident of Monroe.
Responding deputies also located a male subject at the scene. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, according to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough.
The suspect, a 29-year-old Monroe man, is being lodged at the Monroe County Jail. Authorities are withholding his identify, pending formal charges. Arraignment is expected soon.
