Mayo Clinic Health System on Wednesday, Jan. 27, announced it will contact its southeastern Minnesota patients when they are eligible to make an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine.
Vaccine eligibility is based on guidance from the federal and state governments, according to a news release. Minnesota is following a phased approach that prioritizes the initial doses for health care personnel, residents and workers of long-term living facilities and people aged 65 and up.

RED WING Every year the City Council meets for a two-day workshop to discuss what the city accomplished the previous year and the council’s priorities for the coming year.
Before their Jan. 22-23 meeting, council members went through the city’s 10-year Strategic Plan, which was approved in 2019. Each elected leader highlighted the five strategies that he or she wants to focus on in 2021. Those listed below were selected by at least one council member.

DUNNELL A celebration of life service for Harvey L. Sathoff, 85, of Dunnell, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Burial will be at a later date at Lake Fremont Cemetery, rural Dunnell.
Sathoff died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 24, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn. Please maintain safe social distancing while gathering for the visitation and service. The use of face masks by attendees is required. Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn is in charge of arrangements.
