ROCHESTER, Minn. A truck driver died of self-inflicted gunshot wounds Wednesday, May 5, after being stopped by the Minnesota State Patrol Commercial Vehicle unit for a vehicle inspection earlier that morning, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety announced.
Three troopers assigned to the commercial vehicle unit stopped the truck around 6:45 a.m. while it was northbound on U.S. Highway 52. The driver was directed to the parking lot of the Miracle Mile shopping center for the inspection.

STEWARTVILLE A two-vehicle crash near Stewartville on Sunday afternoon sent one man to the hospital.
Taresa Christensen, 40, of La Crosse, Wis., and Jason Allen Reisenauer, 47, also of La Crosse, were driving a 2008 Saturn Vue and a 2002 BMW R1150 northbound on Highway 63 at 3:40 p.m. when the vehicles collided, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.
Reisenauer was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus with non-life-threatening injuries. Christensen was uninjured.
The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office and Mayo Clinic ambulance responded to the scene.
