WAUSAU – The Marathon County Health Department is asking for help finding a dog that bit an 11-year-old girl May 28.
The girl was riding her bicycle near North 32nd Avenue and Tinkers Court in Wausau when a medium to large Labrador retriever-type dog bit her, according to a news release from the health department. The dog appeared to have short hair that was light in color, possibly brown, according to the news release. The girl did not know if the dog had a collar.
The dog ran off after it bit the girl, according to the news release. Police were unsuccessful in finding the dog in the neighborhood. The health department needs to find out the dog s rabies vaccination status.
