Charles D. Royston Jr., 21, of St. Paul, was shot multiple times Thursday night and died at the scene, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office. Officers located a wounded Royston on the ground in the alley about 10 p.m. after responding to a ShotSpotter activation and several people calling 911, police said. No arrests have been announced in connection with Royston s death. Anybody with information about the case can call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Tresean Spears, 24, of Robbinsdale, was shot multiple times shortly before 2 p.m. Friday in the 3700 block of N. Quail Avenue, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office. Police said Tuesday that no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Spears was slumped over in the vehicle when an officer on patrol stopped to check on him, police said. The incident does not appear to be random in nature, a statement from police said. Police Chief Pat Foley made an appeal for anyone with information about the killing to contact police at 763-531-1220.

Resident dies after late-night fire in northeast Minneapolis duplex

Paul Nurnberger, 50, died Thursday afternoon of smoke inhalation suffered during the blaze at the residence in the 400 block of NE. Broadway, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office said. Fire crews responded about 2 a.m. that day on the first floor, where they found Nurnberger near a back door, according to a Fire Department incident report. Nurnberger was taken by paramedics to HCMC and died there. A resident on the second floor was able to flee the fire without assistance, said Fire Chief Bryan Tyner.

Authorities on Monday identified the man who was fatally shot by police late Friday morning as Brian E. Andren, 47, of Ramsey. Andren was shot several times after a brief vehicle chase into a residential area near N. 38th and Noble avenues, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office.

Author: Dana Thiede Updated: 2:32 PM CST January 11, 2021 ROBBINSDALE, Minn Authorities have identified the man fatally shot last week during an encounter with police in Robbinsdale.  The Hennepin County Medical Examiner s office says 47-year-old Brian Eugene Andren of Ramsey died Jan. 8 of multiple gunshot wounds. Agents from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) are handling the investigation into Andren s death, which took place just before 11 a.m. last Friday on the 3700 block of Noble Avenue North. Robbinsdale police say officers first saw Andren s pickup at a convenience store at 36th and Noble, and learned that he had a felony warrant out for his arrest from the state of South Dakota.
