For nine years now, Islands of Brilliance has helped build self-confidence and self-determination in the community of those with autism. We really consider ourselves an early workforce development program, said Mark Fairbanks, founder of Islands of Brilliance.

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration is holding its next Drug Take Back Day across the nation on Saturday. Locally, the event will be from 4-6 p.m.
Arkansans are being encouraged to clean out their medicine cabinets and bring any unused or expired medications to one of the stateâs more than 250 Prescription Drug Take Back Day drop-off locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 24.
In Ashley County drop-off sites include Crossett Police Department, Bakerâs Pharmacy, Gammelâs Pharmacy, and Portland Drug.
âCleaning out medicine cabinets and turning the expired, unused medications over to law enforcement during a Drug Take Back event will save lives,â said Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. âIt is important now more than ever that we continue to properly dispose of these prescription drugs.â
