LITCHFIELD Small business owners came together on Monday for a virtual discussion of the economic conditions they’re working under during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The inaugural small business forum sponsored by the town’s Economic Development Commission drew more than a dozen participants, including First Selectman Denise Raap, an owner of the Village Restaurant.
Raap and business consultant Betsy Painter, who is working under a two-year contract with the Northwest Hills Council of Elected Officials, led the discussion.
“Our focus will be to talk about ways we can thrive and how we can support storefronts that are struggling,” Raap said. “Through conversation and sharing, we can develop a strategy. We can also let our residents know how important it is to shop local.”
