An independent review into the Portland Police Bureau’s apparent leak
Mayor Ted Wheeler, who called for the outside review, and his staff have held multiple meetings with Hardesty, top police brass and the city attorney to determine the scope of the investigation. Those discussions remain ongoing.
The city has also sought the advice of Eric Ward, a nationally known civil rights strategist and expert on right-wing extremism.

Former Mayor Sam Adams’ plan to revive Portland leans on community groups and public involvement to accomplish what City Hall hasn’t been able to do on its own.
“With the vaccines, people are going to be able to begin to safely go about their lives in normal ways,” Adams said following a meeting with small business leaders Thursday, “and they’ll have the ability to roll up their sleeves and pitch in and help bring the city back to full life and better than before.”

PORTLAND, Ore. A man who was arrested twice during riots on the same day in Portland is closely affiliated with Antifa, The Post Millennial reported.
Darby Marshall Howard, 22, of Helena, Mont., was first arrested for felony first-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest Thursday afternoon. Howard was reportedly part of a group of several-dozen far-left intruders who broke inside the lobbies of a Chase Bank and Wells Fargo in downtown Portland. Video footage outside one of the banks showed a crowd of people violently shoving a security guard who then pulled his firearm in defense against the angry mob.
