Prosecutors Office Dropping Case Management System

WHIZ News Prosecutors Office Dropping Case Management System MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio-The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office spoke with county officials about dropping their current case management system manager.  Prosecutors were deeply dissatisfied with the amount of progress made by their current case management system. They felt that many promises made to them were not kept.  “A case management system allows for the courts, the prosecutor’s office, and law enforcement to maintain a straight line of streaming of information from one resource to another. So the officers on the street, the information they take in and create a case file with would then be passed to the prosecutor’s office and then that information is passed to the court once a criminal indictment is filed. That allows for a single act of data entry as opposed to multiple acts of data entry.”, prosecutor Ron Welch explained.

Ohio Supreme Court disqualifies Ohio judge from COVID-19 policy cases

Chief Justice Maureen O Connor wrote that in his affidavit filed in November, Reinhart said that Fleegle was violating the statewide facial covering mandate and failed to implement other precautions such as the use of remote technology to conduct hearings. By doing so, Reinhart said Fleegle was ignoring the recommendations of the chief justice.  Given the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in Ohio and Muskingum County, Mr. Reinhart believes that contagious individuals will attend the December trials and that the risk of infection is unreasonable, O Connor wrote. O Connor also explained Reinhart s concerns that his clients are worried he will be distracted in trial over his own health due to his age, 69, and higher risk for serious complications.
