A Prattville man is facing domestic violence and kidnapping charges after a woman was forcibly taken and beaten.
Willie James Simmons, 27, was taken into custody Monday afternoon in connection with the May 16 incident, according to court records filed Tuesday.
It was shortly after midnight when Simmons allegedly forced the 30-year-old victim into a car at the nightclub. He then drove her to an undisclosed nearby area and beat her with a closed fist on her head and face, according to Simmons charging documents.
The victim suffered two swollen, black eyes, bruises and scratches across her face, according to court records.

The body of a missing infant last seen in north Montgomery has been found.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said shortly after Wednesday’s press conference regarding one-month-old Caleb Michael Whisnand, Jr.’s disappearance, his remains were discovered by law enforcement.
Shortly after, the child’s father, Caleb Michael Whisnand, Sr., was arrested and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility after information was developed.
Whisnand, Sr., has been charged with Manslaughter with a bond set at $100,000.
Other details, such as where the baby’s body was found, have not yet been released.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Investigators from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office found the remains of a 1-month-old baby boy who had been reported missing earlier this week.
Investigators released the following statement Wednesday night:
Preliminary Statement on Missing Infant On May 12, 2021 shortly after the press conference on one month old Caleb Michael Whisnand Jr., his remains were discovered by law enforcement. As a result, information was developed and the child’s father, Caleb Michael Whisnand Sr. was subsequently arrested and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on charges of Manslaughter, with a bond amount of $100,000. Currently, the specifics of this case remain under investigation and all further details and inquires will be released on Thursday
