New Bedford Latin Kings member pleads guilty on various charges

Standard-Times BOSTON  A former member of the New Bedford Chapter of the Massachusetts Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation (“Latin Kings”) pleaded guilty this week to racketeering charges, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.  Kevin Guadalupe, aka “King K-Milly,” 19, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to conduct enterprise affairs through a pattern of racketeering activity, more commonly referred to as RICO conspiracy. U.S. Senior District Court Judge Rya W. Zobel scheduled sentencing for June 10, 2021.    The news release said that Guadalupe admitted to participating in an unarmed robbery committed in November 2019 by members of the Latin Kings in New Bedford. During the robbery, which was captured on video, the victim was chased down in the middle of a busy street, thrown to the ground and kicked and beaten by six members of the Latin Kings. New Bedford Latin King Gordo Pleads Guilty

A New Bedford man who was a regional officer for the Massachusetts Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation pleaded guilty Thursday to racketeering charges after admitting in court to his part in several instances of gang-related violence. Michael Cotto, known as “King Gordo,” 26, once a member of the New Bedford Chapter of the Latin Kings, admitted to participating in the gang s illegal drug business and to committing a variety of violent acts. One such act was a February 2018 beating, known as a “termination,” of an associate suspected of cooperating with law enforcement. The victim was found by New Bedford Police bleeding from his injuries and transported to the hospital, according to a news release from the Office of U.S. Attorney Andrew E. Lelling.

Court records and federal authorities said Velasquez tried to kill a rival gang member using poisoned narcotics in 2019 and attacked a rival gang member in prison in 2010. U.S. Attorney Andrew E. Lelling’s office stated the 32-year-old Velasquez, also known as, ‘King Booboo,’ is a former member of the Boston-based Morton Street Bricks (MSB) Chapter of the Massachusetts Almighty Latin King and Queen Nation. Named after the Morton Street housing project in Boston, the MSB Chapter of the Latin Kings included approximately about six members.
