Massachusetts Reports 446 New COVID Cases, 14 Additional Deaths

BOSTON (CBS) The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 446 new confirmed COVID cases and 14 additional deaths in the state on Monday.
Health officials said the total number of confirmed cases in the state is now 653,636. The total number of confirmed deaths is now 17,344.
There were 23,693 total new tests reported.
As of Monday, the seven-day weighted average of positive tests in Massachusetts is 1.26%.
There are 427 people currently hospitalized for a coronavirus-related illness Monday. There are 117 patients currently in intensive care.
There are an estimated 18,441 active cases in Massachusetts.

California-based Guan’s Mushroom Co. announced over the weekend that it was recalling all packages of its Enoki mushrooms and suspending national distribution after tests conducted at the Massachusetts State Public Health Laboratory by staff from DPH’s Food Laboratory came back positive for Listeria.

More than 4 million adults in Massachusetts have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose after steady progress over the weekend, while most measures of the virus s impact continued to improve ahead of another reopening step starting Monday.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 72,352 vaccine doses administered and a 48,965 increase in full vaccinations on Saturday, followed by 71,663 doses administered and 42,361 additional full vaccinations on Sunday.

In the state s estimate, 3,811,389 residents have received at least one dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine and 222,819 have received the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, representing more than 73 percent of the roughly 5.5 million adults in Massachusetts.
