Gov. Charlie Baker earlier this week outlined the final steps in the state’s reopening plan amid declining COVID cases, which will gradually pull back restrictions over the summer. The new statewide rules are set to take effect on May 10, May 29 and August 1, respectively. In Boston, most of the changes will take effect three weeks after those dates.
Additionally, Baker announced that masks will no longer be required outdoors effective Friday if social distancing is possible. Here are some questions you may have about the reopening, and the restrictions that will be lifted in the coming months.

You might think that in the midst of the NFL draft, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft would need to make other use of his time than a trip to Brockton.
But Kraft made time on Friday to dedicate a new mobile clinic that will serve victims of substance abuse. Itâs the second such unit to be funded in part by the Kraft Center for Community Health at Massachusetts General Hospital; Boston got the first mobile clinic in 2018. For Kraft, the clinics are a tribute to the memory of his wife, Myra, who died of cancer in 2011.

Active COVID cases declined on Friday, down from 26,410 yesterday to 25,474, according to the latest data from the Department of Public Health.
State health officials confirmed another 1,179 new COVID-19 cases on Friday. That’s based on 84,248 new molecular tests, according to the Department of Public Health.
Officials also announced another 16 COVID-related fatalities, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 17,259.
The seven-day average of positive tests on Friday is 1.65%, up from 1.63% the day before.
Since the pandemic began, officials have confirmed 645,867 total COVID-19 cases across the state.

Health officials in Massachusetts reported another 1,115 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 7 more deaths on Saturday as the numbers of hospitalizations and cases of COVID-19 continue to decline in the state.
The update puts the total of confirmed cases at 646,982 and the death toll at 17,266, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
