DiZoglio files bill to set up COVID-19 vaccine pre-registration system

State Sen. Diana DiZoglio, D-Methuen, has filed a bill to launch a COVID-19 vaccine pre-registration, and the state’s congressional delegation is pushing for Gov. Charlie Baker to get it done.
The bill, An Act relative to COVID-19 vaccination pre-registration, would require the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to set up a centralized system in which patients can pre-register for vaccines.
The pre-registered patients would then get appointments within their designated phase (depending on age, occupation, medical conditions, etc.).
“We need to get ahead of this pandemic instead of continuing to chase after it,” DiZoglio said. “The vaccine rollout has been less than ideal, but we can ensure that the frustration experienced by the first group of eligible recipients is not replicated during subsequent phases of the vaccine distribution plan.
