Newsbook Photo: Amnesty International / Joanna Demarco Tista taqra bil- An asylum seeker from Ivory Coast took the witness stand on Tuesday and testified before Magistrate Nadine Lia in the gathering of evidence against three asylum seekers who stand charged with terrorism-related offences after the allegedly unlawfully seized control of the merchant vessel. Bamba M. had already started testifying in a previous sitting. The second person to take the stand on Tuesday was Dounja from Ivory Coast. The witness explained that he had left Libya on a rubber boat and at around 5am, they had spotted an aircraft circulating above them. Dounja had spent three months in Libya before taking the perilous journey to Europe through the Central Mediterranean. He told the court he had been beaten up during the period, adding that he was not aware of the reason behind the beating.
