Kota Kinabalu: A 27-year-old Filipino was charged at the Magistrate’s Court on Monday with trafficking 56.48gm of syabu.
Unemployed Adzlan Jumaani Tahaya, who was brought before Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun, was accused of committing the offence at 11.30am on Jan 26 this year in a chicken coop in front of a house at Kg Lok Baru in Pulau Gaya.
However, no plea was recorded from Adzlan after the charge was read out to him.

The charge under Section 39B(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 carries a punishment with either the death penalty or life in prison and whipping with a minimum of 15 strokes.

The police have brought at least five charges against the former Caretaker Chairman of Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, Haruna Musa Mota, who was arrested for allegedly aiding banditry in the state.
The charges which include among others, criminal breach of trust; inciting disturbance; aiding and abetment of armed robbery; kidnapping and terrorism, were presented at the Chief Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
Mota who is currently remanded at a Katsina Correctional Centre, had been arrested in connection with the recent abduction of 344 students of Government Science Secondary school, Kankara.

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested a school teacher over the death of a 16-year-old female student who drowned in the Walawe River in Kaltota, Balangoda.
The teacher was identified as in-charge of extracurricular activities of a school in the Kaltota Police area and she had taken 15 students for a river bath in the Walawe River, and thereafter one student was reported missing.
The body was recovered by Sri Lanka Police 02 hours after the student was reported missing and the cause of death was ruled as drowning, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.
A police investigation revealed the teacher had taken the students for a swim without the permission of the principal of the school as well as from the Zonal Education Director of the area.

COCAINE valued at up to £2 million was found in a âparasite deviceâ attached to a bulk carrier anchored outside Gibraltar port yesterday afternoon.
A team of RGP divers found the drugs attached to the hull of the cargo-ship after the boat was boarded by Drug Squad detectives.
âCrime scene investigators found the device to contain individually wrapped packages containing cocaine weighing around 25 kilograms, with a street value of between £1.5 – £2 million,â said an RGP spokesperson.
