Police stun dog, search church and corral suspect after Kingston domestic assault

KINGSTON — Police say they were forced to use a Taser on a dog, searched a church and fought with a domestic abuse suspect during a tense few hours on Zerby Avenue on Monday. Officers were called to 225 Zerby Ave. around 1 p.m. for the report of a man who assaulted and choked a woman. “When my officers arrived on scene, the male sent an aggressive pitbull on one of our guys, ordering the dog to ‘get him,’” Kingston police Chief Rich Kotchik said. “Our officer then used a Taser to hold back the pitbull.” The dog was placed back in the cage the man released the animal from.

Huntingdon man accused of intentionally ramming a woman s car

A man repeatedly drove into a woman’s vehicle on Dec. 7 endangering her and the two children inside, court papers say. Garrett L. Watkins, 27, was charged by state police at Hazleton with three felony counts of aggravated assault and three misdemeanor counts or reckless endangerment. He also faces six counts of simple assault and three counts terroristic threats, all misdemeanors, along with summary counts of harassment and vehicle code violations. Bail was set at $25,000 Dec. 8 by Magisterial District Judge James Haggerty, Kingston. According to arrest papers: Troopers were called to Route 93 near North Main Street in Sugarloaf Twp. at 11:45 p.m. Dec. 7 for a domestic incident involving two vehicles.
