Roxana sex charges upgraded to felony

EDWARDSVILLE Misdemeanor charges of sexual exploitation of a child against a Roxana man originally filed in July have been upgraded to felony.
The new charges against Adam D. Baumgartner, 38, were filed Jan. 7. The case was originally presented by the Roxana Police Department.
On July 17, Baumgartner was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, and harmful material, all Class A misdemeanors.
On Jan. 7 the sexual exploitation of a child charges were upgraded to Class 4 felonies. The original charges were dismissed, according to workers with the Madison County Circuit Clerk’s Office, who confirmed that with the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Zackary A. Moore, 23, was charged Jan. 6 with two counts of criminal sexual assault.
The case was presented by the Wood River Police Department.
According to court documents, the incident occurred June 10, 2019 when Moore committed several sex acts with a then-19-year-old woman who was unable to give consent.
Bail was set at $100,000.
In an unrelated incident, an Alton man who had been charged in a separate offense Jan. 4 was charged with aggravated battery on Jan. 6.
Leon English, 26, was charged Jan. 6 with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the East Alton Police Department.

EDWARDSVILLE The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has filed paperwork to seize $1,500 cash taken from two Alton men as a result of a drug-related search and traffic stop Dec. 22.
Malik S. Carter, 26, had been charged with multiple felonies related to the incident, which began when Alton police executed a search warrant at his apartment in the 1000 block of Alton Pointe. Police were at the scene when Carter allegedly drove up, saw the police activity, and fled.
Carter and another man were quickly taken into custody. The second man has not been charged as of Jan. 5.

Two face Glen Carbon Walmart theft charges

EDWARDSVILLE Two Granite City women have been charged with retail theft after allegedly attempting to steal numerous items from the Glen Carbon Walmart.
Amy S. Ray, 25, and Krysta A. Tracy, 28, were each charged ec. 31 with retail theft over $300, both Class 3 felonies.
The case was presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department.
According to court documents, on Dec. 30 the two attempted to take items including fo0od, alcoholic beverages, a drill and a sports bag, with a total value in excess of $300.
Bail was set at $20,000 each.
