GUWAHATI: The Assam State Committee of SFI (Students Federation of India) has demanded that the government and the department concerned must immediately develop a website or an app that can display the availability of beds, oxygen facility, ICUs (Intensive Care Units) and ventilators in Guwahati Hospitals.
Making this demand, the organization s president Kashyap Choudhury and its general secretary Nirangkush Nath stated in a joint press release, As cases of COVID-19 are soaring high throughout the State and specially in Guwahati, people have become tensed. We have noted that the families of COVID patients and especially of those that show severe symptoms are facing lots of problems in finding information regarding the availability of beds, oxygen, ICU and ventilators. To know the status of these important health infrastructure, one has to contact the hospitals through phone or directly go there.

New Delhi [India], May 2 (ANI): Following the victory of Kerala Chief Minister and Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Pinarayi Vijayan from the Dharmadam Assembly constituency and the ruling LDF appearing poised to form the government in Kerala again, he seems to be on course to become chief minister for a second term.
Pinarayi Vijayan Pinarayi Vijayan is an Indian politician and the current chief minister of Kerala. Serving since May 12, 2016, Vijayan is the 12th CM of the state. He is a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and served as the secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) from 1998 to 2015, which made his tenure the longest ever. He had also served in the Kerala government prior to his current stint. He was the Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives from 1996 to 1998 in the Kerala government. In the May 2016 Kerala elections, Vijayan won as the CPI(M) candidate from Dharmadom constituency.

Thiruvananthapuram, April 23 : The three candidates in the fray to the three Rajya Sabha seats that fell vacant from Kerala were declared elected by Assembly Secretary S.V. Unnikrishnan Nair on Friday.
The three are Indian Union Muslim League leader P.V. Abdul Wahab who was renominated by his party, while the other two, backed by the ruling CPI-M, are new faces - John Brittas, the Managing Director of of the party-backed Kairali TV channel, and V. Sivadasan.
The CPI-M nominees were handpicked by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
