A Coast man who hit his neighbour with a palm frond and spat in his mouth during an “aggressive argument” will walk free from prison next month.
Lance Davis Essex was sentenced in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday to nine months in prison after he assaulted his neighbour on May 8 last year.
The court heard Essex had put star pickets on the boundary line of the adjoining properties in Landsborough to stop the victim from driving his car and trailer on his driveway when he parked his car.
Defence lawyer Patrick Meehan said the incident occurred after the victim had confronted Essex about the pickets.
