Through its mandate, Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Myrna Omaliao explained that “DAR shall acquire public and private agricultural landholdings to be distributed to tenants, farmers, farmworkers, or other tillers who are qualified to become ARBs.”
She added that the ARBs will be provided with titles in the form of certificates of land ownership award “covering one contiguous tract or several parcels of land cumulated up to a maximum of three hectares per ARB.”
Omaliao also noted that DAR is mandated to guarantee the farmers’ land security, deliver social equity, and provide them with the necessary productive resources needed to ensure their economic viability and productivity.

Playing basketball, a contact sport is still prohibited in Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) prompting local authorities in Angono, Rizal to conduct a series of operations against those playing contact sports, a violation of the health protocols that is being mandated as a result of the pandemic.

As of January 14, the Angono Municipal Government’s Public Safety and Order Office (PSO) has dismantled 15 rings from the board of basketball courts in several subdivisions in the town.
Elmer Deloritos, head of Angono’s PSO told Manila Bulletin that the confiscation of the rings came as local authorities received various complaints of teenagers playing the ball game, which is a violation of the health protocols set by the Interagency Task Force For the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
