PBA explores Ilocos Norte as possible bubble venue

Published April 20, 2021, 8:48 PM PBA Images The PBA received an offer from the provincial government of Ilocos Norte to host a bubble in the event it becomes the league’s last resort to start the 46th season this year. PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said he had initial talks with Ilocos Norte governor Matthew Manotoc regarding the possible staging of the bubble up north, but added that the offer could be entertained depending on the current COVID-19 situation. Marcial also discussed the matter with Perry Martinez, who heads the Metro Ilocos Norte Council. Both officials are no stranger to the PBA, with Manotoc being a player agent prior to his political career while Martinez once headed the league’s technical committee.

Ombudsman offices in Quezon City closed April 19 to May 2 for disinfection

OMB employees have been working from home since March 29. Last April 5 to 8, all OMB offices in Quezon City were disinfected, sanitized and cleaned on orders of Martires.  “In view of the announcement of the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 placing the National Capital Region under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine for the period 12 to 30 April 2021, and the need to further disinfect several offices of the Ombudsman in Quezon City in order to ensure the safety of the employees, the Office will be CLOSED from 19 April 2021 to 02 May 2021,” the OMB said in a public advisory issued last Saturday, April 17.
