Former police officer faced past accusations of theft

According to a recently unsealed criminal complaint against him, Dustin Rambo worked for the Mississippi Department of Transportation law enforcement division for 18 months in 2012 and 2013, during which he admitted to taking money collected for fees, taxes and permits. The court documents report Rambo was allowed to resign from his position before he was fired. The case was investigated by the FBI Jackson Field Office’s Oxford Resident Agency and the Booneville Police Department. On Friday, agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Rambo and charged him with five color of law violations, including one felony count of deprivation of rights under color of law privacy/bodily injury, and four misdemeanor counts of deprivation of rights under color of law – unreasonable search and seizure/taking of property without due process.

Acadian Ambulance drivers say they’ll have all the right moves and routes together when the bridge closes. They’ve had plenty of practice finding alternate routes, especially when the bridge has been closed nightly for construction. “Acadian has been able to come together, hire people, move people around, change times with units to make it happen,” said Caleb Kirkwood, Acadian paramedic field supervisor. “It definitely helps to know the area and the guys we have here have been on the road with all the call load we have going on. They have a pretty good familiarization with the area.”

(WDAM) - A crash involving two 18-wheeler on Interstate 59 in Pearl River County sent two people to the hospital Thursday morning. According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the crashed happened near exit 35. That’s where the interstate intersects with Hillsdale Road between Lumberton and Poplarville. Mississippi Highway Patrol Cpl. Calvin Robertson said one of the trucks overturned during the crash, blocking both southbound lanes of the interstate.
