The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 214 new cases of COVID-19 and three coronavirus-related deaths Thursday.
Since the virus hit the state in March 2020, a total of 312,926 cases and 7,226 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported.
According to a New York Times database Thursday, at least 794 new coronavirus deaths and 45,085 new cases were reported in the U.S. on Wednesday. Over the past week, there has been an average of 46,603 cases per day, a decrease of 26% from the average two weeks earlier.

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) - The Mississippi State Department of Health reports the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state has risen to over 312,900.
MSDH reported 214 COVID-19 cases and three additional deaths on Thursday, bringing the state total to 312,926 cases and 7,226 deaths.
Positive test results may have been made during the past several days and represent individuals who became ill a week ago or more.
