DPS reported that Gilbert T. Martinez passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital after an incident at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of West County Road 114. The Department of Public Safety reported that a preliminary investigation indicated a 2005 Ford Freestyle was in reverse gear and unoccupied, and that the “driver/pedestrian” was outside the vehicle. DPS then reported that the vehicle ran over the pedestrian/driver. The crash is still under investigation.

That included more than 6,500 this week at the Midland County Horseshoe and Golf Course Road Church of Christ through Thursday this week.  -    Midland Health reported that 12 percent of the patients inside Midland Memorial Hospital were COVID patients on Friday morning. That number had dropped to 10 percent earlier in the week.  -    For the third-straight week, the percentage of people testing positive for COVID at Midland Health testing center was less than 10 percent. Heading into Friday morning, the percentage was 9.6 percent.
