Thieves smash holes in wall, steal cash from Miami restaurant

The burglary occurred just after 2 a.m. Monday at Yoly’s Restaurant on Northwest 12th Avenue.
“Everything was upside down,” said Alexandra Diaz, whose family owns the business.
Surveillance video shows someone lingering outside the restaurant just before it was burglarized, and another surveillance camera captured a second person grabbing cash from inside the restaurant a short time later.
“The music box, like the register, everything was messed up,” Diaz said.
The people behind the crime smashed holes in the wall, busted up the Jukebox and grabbed about $400 in cash from the register.

A guard at a Miami, Florida, juvenile detention facility is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old inmate.
Javontate Richardson, 30, worked as a security guard for the Miami Girls Academy detention center when he allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old inmate.
Richardson was arrested and charged with two felonies, one count of sexual battery of a minor by an adult, and one count of sexual misconduct with an inmate, NBC Miami reported.
Police said the teen told her youth care specialist Monday that she had sex with Richardson. Management at the detention center reviewed security footage and spotted the alleged incident in the surveillance video.
Mother and 3 children hospitalized after crash involving stolen vehicle in northwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A major crash in northwest Miami-Dade County left three children and two adults injured.
Inside one of the vehicles involved in the crash was a mother who was driving her three children. The other vehicle, police said, was stolen.
The violent accident happened near the intersection of Northwest 66th Street and 22nd Avenue just after 2 p.m. Saturday, leaving behind a lot of debris.
The two cars involved, a white BMW and a dark-colored Subaru SUV that had previously been reported stolen, were left smashed and mangled.

GOULDS, Fla. – The Miami-Dade Police Department released audio on Thursday of the gunshots that killed a 17-year-old boy and injured two 16-year-old boys. It’s the sound of the rapid-fire that ShotSpotter technology detected in south Miami-Dade’s Goulds neighborhood.
The drive-by shooting before 9 p.m. on Wednesday was in front of a home near the intersection of Southwest 115th Avenue and 224th Street. It left two families in anguish and another grieving the death of Clinton Young, a Southridge Senior High School student who had lost his father to a drive-by shooting.
Reward now up to $15,000 to help catch shooter of SW Miami-Dade teen

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – On Friday, the reward amount for information leading to the shooting death of the 17-year-old killed Wednesday in southwest Miami-Dade went from $5,000 to $15,000. Miami-Dade Police approved an additional contribution of $5,000 and the Florida’s Sheriff Association added $5,000, according to Miami Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez.
Miami Southridge Senior High School student Clinton Young was shot along with two other teens around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Southwest 222nd Street and 115th Avenue
Police said a car drove up and at least one person inside starting shooting.
