Last week it was PrideFest. This week it’s Summerfest. June summer festivals are moving to later dates as a result of a slow COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
“While the progress made through the vaccine rollout is encouraging, we believe it is in the public’s best interest to hold the festival in September to give government leaders and healthcare organizations enough time to distribute the vaccine,” said Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. president and CEO

On the heels of the cancellation earlier this week of California music festivals Coachella and Stagecoach, Summerfest has announced it s intention to move this summer s fest back to September.

Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. announced that Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance will move from its original June 2021 dates to give health professionals more time to vaccinate the general public. Summerfest 2021 will be held September 2 – 4, 9 – 11 and 16 – 18. The festival will retain the three weekend format, running Thursday – Saturday, three consecutive weekends.
