MCTS launches website, hotline to inform passengers of âMCTS NEXTâ route changes

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) launched a new website and telephone hotline Monday, Feb. 1 to help passengers learn about upcoming changes related to the first phase of its MCTS NEXT system redesign.
In 2018, MCTS started working on a new approach to improve the rider experience and meet the community’s modern needs. The project aligns with Milwaukee County’s mission to advance racial equity and enhance the quality of life through great public service.
Phase One of MCTS NEXT takes effect on Sunday, March 7, 2021 – with improvements and adjustments to Routes 15, 19, 20, 31, 33, 35, 51, 52, 63, and 68. This will be followed by Phase Two on June 6, 2021 and Phase Three on August 29, 2021 – each impacting an additional 11 routes.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) - The Milwaukee County Sheriff s Office responded to 136 service calls between 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 and 12 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31.
MCSO deputies also responded to 15 property damage crashes, one crash with minor injuries, and 120 disabled vehicles. Roads (and) freeways remain icy, wet (and) snow covered, MCSO tweeted. Reduce yours peed for winter weather conditions.

MARCH 21 Meet Kelly Sweet.
The eighth grade teacher, 26, is facing a felony rap for an alleged sexual encounter with a 14-year-old boy in her Milwaukee apartment earlier this month. As noted in a Circuit Court criminal complaint, the Deer Creek Intermediate School teacher was watching a movie with the boy on March 9 when she initiated illicit contact while the pair was seated on her couch (Sweet had been resting her head on the boy s lap). The charged assault involved Sweet allegedly grinding her pubic mound against the victim.
The educator, pictured here in a Milwaukee County Sheriff s Office mug shot, was named in a March 20 criminal information charging her with sexual assault of a child. If convicted, Sweet could face a maximum of 40 years behind bars. (3 pages)
Police: 32-year-old woman shot on city s northwest side

MILWAUKEE - Police are investigating a shooting that happened at the intersection of Fond du Lac Avenue and W. Hampton Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.
The victim, a 32-year-old woman from Milwaukee, was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped at the traffic light when shots were fired and was subsequently struck. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is listed in stable condition.

MCSO investigate after shots were fired at a car on Hoan Bridge
MCSO said it happened shortly after 3 p.m.
Officials say the victim was traveling north when a silver sedan passed her, rolling down a window and fired a shot at her.
According to MCSO, the victim described the passenger as a Black male and the driver as a Hispanic female. The victim did not know either of the suspects.
Update: On Friday, January 29, at approximately 3:17 p.m., dispatch reported shots fired northbound I-794 on the Hoan Bridge. The victim was the operator of a dark blue Dodge traveling north on I-794 when a silver sedan passed her rolling down a window and fired a shot at her.
