Half of Chippewa County has one dose of COVID-19 vaccine The Sault News As of Wednesday, data from the State of Michigan reported there have been 1,075 cumulative confirmed cases and 1,391 cumulative probables of COVID-19 in Chippewa County. There have been 33 deaths because of the virus. On Wednesday, it was reported by the Chippewa County Health Department that 2,337 people have recovered.  Compared to last week’s totals, there had been 1,068 confirmed cases, 1,387 probable cases and 33 deaths due to COVID-19 in Chippewa County. Per the health department, 2,278 people had recovered from the virus.
