JACKSONVILLE, Fla Florida s move to almost double reward money to those whose anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers statewide lead to an arrest in certain murder cases could be a boon, according to Jacksonville s volunteer tip line group.
A bank located blocks away from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office headquarters was robbed Monday by a woman in a motorized wheelchair, authorities said.
The shooting suspect is considered armed and dangerous, the Sheriff s Office said.
Police found the victim with several gunshot wounds about 9:40 a.m. at Cross Creek Apartments, 1441 Monotak Ave. The victim died after being rushed to the hospital, Sgt. Adam Blinn said.
Blinn said after the shooting the suspect ran away and was last seen heading west through the apartment complex toward Winnebago Avenue. We don’t know if the victim and suspect are known to each other, Blinn said.
Blinn described the suspect as Black and wearing a black mask and a blue, hooded sweatshirt.
He is considered armed and dangerous, said Blinn, noting that police are urging residents in the area to take normal safety precautions.
