Alam, who is the former chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and former editor of  Daily Nation, Islamabad was shot in Islamabad on April 20, as he was taking an evening stroll near his house.  An unidentified man jumped over the fence of the park, fired at Alam and escaped.  Police have registered a criminal case against unidentified men for firing on Alam. Alam was rushed to the hospital by his friends.  Although injured, Alam recorded a video on the way to the hospital in which he said he had been struck on his ribs.  In a note of defiance Alam declared: “My message to those who did this is that I am not going to be scared by such tactics.”

Six TTP terrorists arrested in Sindh

Daily Times April 20, 2021 The law enforcement agencies have arrested six terrorists belong to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in different raids in Sindh. DIG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Umar Shahid, in a media talk on Monday said that five terrorists have been arrested, including two suicide bombers, in a raid near Jamshoro. He said that the accused informed during the investigation that they had planned an attack on the Police Training College Saeedabad in Karachi. “The Rangers and intelligence teams had been working against this terrorist cell for some time. The terrorists had returned from Afghanistan to Pakistan,” Umar Shahid said. Rangers’ Colonel Shabbir talking to the media said, “We completed this operation yesterday. The head of the terrorist group had Afghanistan’s passport.
