DCs, SPs directed to ensure festivities amid Covid SoPs
Jammu Tawi, April 15: Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha chaired a meeting with all Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police of the Jammu Division to review the developmental scenario, law and order situation, besides assessing the Covid containment and mitigation efforts across the districts, at the Civil Secretariat here today.
Outlining the agenda of establishing a transparent, efficient, pro-people administrative set up across the Union Territory, the Lt Governor called upon the district officers to be sensitive towards the issues, problems and needs of the common public. Days ahead of the panchayat elections, the Ghaziabad police has claimed to have busted three illegal arms manufacturing factories and allegedly seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition. Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 14 (ANI): Days ahead of the panchayat elections, the Ghaziabad police has claimed to have busted three illegal arms manufacturing factories and allegedly seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition.

The court further directed that all public gatherings must be restricted to 50 persons immediately. We understand that complete lockdown for weeks together may not be feasible but looking at the current surge of pandemic, we direct the government to look into the viability of complete lockdown in those districts where spread has increased alarmingly, the court stated in its order on Tuesday. Hearing a PIL related to Covid-19, a division bench comprising Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Ajit Kumar, made it clear that if the court learns of anyone moving on roads without mask, the court shall take it as an act of contempt on the part of police and will certainly haul up the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Prayagraj and other concerned districts for the same.
