Criminals impersonating Senate panel to defraud higher institutions – Clerk

Punch Newspapers Sections Published 8:38 pm The Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and Tertiary Education Trust Fund on Friday raised the alarm that some dubious elements were impersonating employees of the panel’s secretariat to solicit funds from unsuspecting heads of higher institutions in Nigeria. The Clerk to the Committee, Dr Mustapha Bintube, who made this known in a statement, however, warned heads of tertiary institutions in the country to disregard any letter soliciting funds from them. The statement read in part, “I am directed by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND to bring to the notice of all stakeholders, heads of parastatals and higher Institutions in the country that, it has come to the notice of the committee that, some unscrupulous persons are parading themselves with fake letters of request and/or introduction, seeking assistance from the heads of higher institutions.

Varsity Don Urges FG To Include Private Universities In TETFUND

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Dean, Faculty of Law, Delta State University  Abraka, South- South Nigeria, Professor  Kingsley Edu, has expressed displeasure over the non-inclusion of Nigeria’s private Universities in the nation’s interventionist agency, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND). He therefore, urged the federal government to integrate such Universities in the system as a way of assisting them, stressing that there should be no opposition between government and private owned universities in Nigeria.  Professor Edu, stated this , while delivering a lecture titled “charting the course for the progress in Nigeria University education at the 14th Matriculation Ceremony of the Renaissance University Ugbawka, Enugu state, South- East Nigeria.

Agency partners TETFUND on projects, research in varsities

The MOU, according to a statement by Mr. Namadi Ibrahim, Ag. Secretary, NNMA, is a fall out of the 2019 forum held between the agencies tagged, “The Missing Links in the 20 years of Democracy in Nigeria: Think Tanks as Catalysts for Development”. “Part of the MoU includes the establishment of a state-of-the-art library with high-tech resource to enable Nigerian scholars and researchers to work on issues of national and international development.
