San Marcos police make arrest after first murder of 2021 Man, 33, found dead at Econo Lodge Hotel; suspect arrested Tags: Melvin George Nicholas Jr. (KSAT) SAN MARCOS, Texas – San Marcos police arrested a 59-year-old man connected with the murder of a 33-year-old man at a local hotel. Officers were called to the Econo Lodge Hotel and found a man dead inside one of the rooms on Tuesday night. Officials identified the victim as Andreas Mihanpoor. An investigation led officers to the suspect, Melvin George Nicholas Jr., and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest, police said. Nicholas was arrested and taken to the Hays County Jail. A bond has not been set.

San Marcos police arrest murder suspect after incident at Econo Lodge Hotel KVUE News Staff © Provided by KVUE-TV Austin The San Marcos Police Department has arrested a suspect in the city s first murder of 2021. Police were called to the Econo Lodge Hotel on South Guadalupe Street on Jan. 19 after a dead man was found inside one of the rooms. The man was identified as Andreas Mihanpoor, 33, and next-of-kin was notified. A final autopsy report is still pending from the Travis County Medical Examiner s Office. The investigation led police to develop probable cause that the death was caused by Melvin George Nicholas Jr., 59, of San Marcos. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
