He was so lucky : 3-year-old boy survives 5-story fall out NYC apartment window UP NEXT
A 3-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after falling five stories out a window in his Bronx apartment Monday afternoon.
The boy, named Jose, plunged from the bedroom window of the apartment on Maclay Avenue in the Westchester Square section just after 1:30 p.m. I went out like, where s the baby, where s the baby? his sister, Mia Jiminez, told Eyewitness News in an exclusive interview. The baby was right there. He was with his iPad, normal things he do.
The boy had pushed out a piece of cardboard next to the air conditioner, and the remaining space was wide enough for him to slip through.

A silver lining has emerged in the wake of the vandalization of the Native American obelisk at Warner Center Park during last May’s civil unrest: the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians will now hold a seat on the board of directors of the statue’s sponsors, the Fernando Awards Foundation.
“We need to give significance and recognition to the people who started the San Fernando Valley,” said David Honda, a longtime Fernando Awards Foundation director, who told the Business Journal Wednesday that the addition is to be made official Jan. 26 in a board meeting on Zoom.

A striking and powerful mural now on display in San Fernando depicts the U.S. federal program dealing with the detention of migrant children at the border.
The temporary art installation, titled Children in Cages was created by local artist Lalo Garcia and approved by the San Fernando City Council back in September.
The eight-foot by eight-foot installation depicts children in a room behind a physical chain link fence and was placed on the city-owned wrought iron fence located in the Civic Center parking lot at the corner of First Street and Maclay Avenue, facing the bike path.
