UPDATE 1/20/2021: On Sunday, January 17 at 4:52 p.m., officers responded to the area of Billingsley Road near St. Patricks Drive in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash.
A preliminary investigation showed the driver of a Jeep was traveling southbound on St Patricks Drive when he struck the rear of another car also traveling on St Patrick’s Drive. No one was injured in that crash; however, the driver of the Jeep fled, drove through a red light at Billingsley Road and struck a Toyota Camry which was westbound on Billingsley Road. The collision sent both vehicles into a wooded area.

Maryland State Police rescued a victim who was injured by a falling tree in West Virginia.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 18, Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 5, based at Cumberland Airport was dispatched to Morgan County, West Virginia to hoist a victim who was injured by a falling tree. Due to the multiple sustained injuries, steep terrain and the extended extrication time by ground, Trooper 5 was requested to perform an aerial hoist rescue.
The helicopter crew configured Trooper 5 for an aerial hoist operation and arrived overhead. The pilots maneuvered the AW-139 helicopter into a steady hover position 180 feet above the rescue crews due to terrain and obstacles. A Trooper/Rescue Technician with medical equipment was lowered to the scene.
January 11, 2021
On Monday, January 11, 2021, at approximately 6:15 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of the Roy Rogers located at 2690 Crain Highway in Waldorf, for the reported motor vehicle collision with multiple patients trapped.
Crews arrived on the scene to find four vehicles in the roadway with one patient trapped, crews immediately requested a helicopter.
Firefighters extricated one patient in approximately 15 minutes.
Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 landed at the scene and transported one adult female to an area trauma center with serious injuries.
Incident command reported at least one patient signed care refusal forms on the scene, and two patients being transported to area hospitals with various injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.
A preliminary investigation showed the pedestrian, Francis Emery Proctor, 63, of Waldorf, was crossing the southbound lanes of Western Parkway when a vehicle being operated by a 20-year-old male from Waldorf struck him.
December 30, 2020
UPDATE: On December 30, 2020, at approximately 6:11 p.m., officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Western Parkway at Waldorf Market Place for the report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
Shortly after officers and paramedics arrived and attempted life-saving measures, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation showed the pedestrian, Francis Emery Proctor, 63, of Waldorf, was crossing the southbound lanes of Western Parkway when a vehicle being operated by a 20-year-old male from Waldorf struck him.
