Oyo Amotekun leader dies in accident caused by pothole

A leader of Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, Tajudeen Salaudeen has reportedly died in an accident.
He was said to have crashed his motorcycle when trying to avoid a pothole on Thursday at Sawmill area, on Ilero road.

Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde Wednesday said 200 members of the Western Nigeria Security Network in Oyo State codenamed Amotekun have been deployed to address the security challenges in the state.
Makinde said the additional deployment of the security outfit is to “rid the forests of criminals” carrying out kidnapping/banditry in the state especially in the Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun zones.
According to the governor, the decision was reached at a security meeting held with representatives of Igangan, Ibarapa, which was attended by security stakeholders. x
“They will be presenting daily reports of their activities to me in the short run and periodic reports in the long run,” Makinde said in series of tweets.
Says Amotekun must be allowed to function

The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Aare Gani Adams, on Tuesday, expressed worry that some people in the South-West are colluding with Fulani herdsmen to commit crimes such as kidnappings and armed robbery in the region.
He also said that for insecurity to be eradicated from the region, the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun must be allowed to function effectively.
Adams said this on a breakfast show on ARISE Television monitored by

Expressing worry that some bad elements in the South-West were collaborating with criminal herdsmen, the Yoruba leader said: “Some people pressured me to talk on the happenings in Ibarapa, Ondo State, and other areas in the South-West.
