JD(S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda on Wednesday said his party will not contest by-elections for Belgaum Lok Sabha segment, and Basavakalyan, Sindgi and Maski Assembly seats.The by-poll schedule is yet to be announced by the Election Commission.
"JD(S) will not field its candidates for bypolls to Belgaum Lok Sabha and Basavakalyan, Sindgi and Maski Assembly seats. We don t have money to fight these elections," Gowda was quoted as saying to reporters by his office in a release.

Baharampur: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched blistering attack at the BJP on Tuesday while campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, due in April-May later this year.
Hitting out at the BJP, Banerjee said that she is not a weak person who can be intimidated by the saffron party. The Trinamool Congress supremo further said that she will live like a Royal Bengal Tiger till the time she is alive.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday launched a blistering attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is its main opposition in the upcoming state Assembly elections.
Hitting out at the saffron party for criticising her government for presenting a ‘populist’ state budget on February 5, the Trinamool Congress supremo said that ‘some are saying that the state budget is an advertisement ahead of polls, even if it is an advertisement, what s the problem’.
