DHAKA, Feb 25, 2021 (BSS) â The High Court (HC) today set February 28 to pass its judgement on a writ petition challenging a decision of Ministry of Finance to take back timescale facilities given to 48,720 government primary school teachers.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order after holding hearing on the matter.
âEarlier on January 13, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court had directed the High Court to dispose of within three weeks a rule issued in this regard. Today the High Court heard the matter and set February 28 to pronounce its judgement,â Barrister Moksedul Islam, who took part in the hearing for the writ, told newsmen.

The High Court will deliver its verdict on March 9 on the appeal filed by independent lawmaker and Awami League leader Haji Mohammad Salim challenging the trial court verdict that sentenced him to 13 years imprisonment in a corruption case.
The HC bench of Justice Md Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Justice AKM Zahirul Huq today set the date.
During the hearing today, Haji Salim s lawyers Abdul Baset Majumder and Sayed Ahmed Raza told the HC that their client was not involved in any corruption but the case has been filed against him in 2007 to harass him on political motive.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court has upheld its chamber judge s order that stayed the High Court bail to Sohel Rana Biswas, suspended jailer of Chattogram Central Jail, in a money laundering case.
A four-member bench of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order on Sunday following a leave-to-appeal petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) challenging the HC order of bail.
The apex court extended the order issued by its chamber judge on September 29 last year staying the HC bail for Sohel Rana Biswas, and therefore, he cannot be released from jail, ACC s lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told The Daily Star.
