Manitoba First Nations Police Service Officers received a call in regards to a male suspect who was intoxicated and driving an unregistered vehicle on May 1, 2021.
Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop but the suspect vehicle failed to stop and took off at a high rate of speed. The suspect’s vehicle lost control and became stuck at the rear of a local residence, then the suspect ran from police and was seen attempting to jump through a window of the home.

Authorities say they have a teen in custody in relation to the homicide of a 36-year-old woman.
First reported missing on July 10, Tamara Benoit was last seen on May 23 in the Portage la Prairie and Long Plain First Nation area. Finding her body months later, Manitoba First Nation Police Service located her remains on September 3.
Two 36-year-old suspects were charged with homicide, and a 15-year-old was arrested but not charged. RCMP Manitoba is sharing that the 15-year-old, now 16, is being charged with Second Degree Murder.
WINNIPEG A second person has been arrested and charged in connection to the homicide of a Manitoba woman whose remains were found in Portage la Prairie. On Friday, officers from the RCMP and the Manitoba First Nation Police Service arrested 36-year-old Tova Jeanine Peters at a Winnipeg residence and charged them with second-degree murder and accessory after the fact to murder in connection to the death of Tamara Benoit (Norman). The charges have not been proven in court. This comes one day after Mounties announced they had arrested 37-year-old Ryan Peters, who is facing the same charges, as well as a 15-year-old boy who was later released without charges.
