District Office Complex at Siddartha Layout on Bannur Road will soon house the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office. A meeting will be held with officials and district heads to move the present office to the new premises, said Mysuru District Minister S.T. Somashekar, who already has his office at the new Complex.
Interacting with reporters at Pathrakarthara Bhavan this morning, the Minister said that it was decided earlier that the office would be shifted after the COVID-19 pandemic subsides. “Now that the contagion has considerably reduced, the process of shifting the office will begin soon and I will call for a meeting and decide,” he said.

More number of water bodies in and around Mysuru that have lost their original glory may soon get a new lease of life. Kergalli Lake, Ajjaiyyanahundi Lake near Dattagalli and the water bodies adjoining these lakes had been identified for restoration.
Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, who visited Ajjaiyyanahundi lake and other water bodies on Wednesday, has asked the officials to work on restoring these water bodies in the next two months.

He was answering to questions raised by Chamaraja MLA L.Nagendra on whether the State Government intends to conserve or demolish two iconic structures in Mysuru during the Question Hour in the State Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
The Minister said the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has already adopted a resolution seeking demolition of Devaraja Market and re-building the same in heritage style. However, recommendation by the Heritage Committee was quite contradictory and favoured restoration than its demolition. In between, a few have moved the Court questioning the market demolition. Closure of lease period : TAPCMS locks its lorry stand area to take up developmental works
Mysore/Mysuru: Following the 15-year lease period of the lorry stand at
Taluk Agricultural Produce Co-operative Marketing Society (TAPCMS) Limited taken by Railway Goods Shed Lorry Owners Association coming to an end yesterday, the TAPCMS authorities have locked the gate of the lorry stand on Jodi Thenginamara Road in Bannimantap, which has forced the truck owners to park their vehicles on either side of the road causing disruption in smooth movement of vehicles since last evening.
Also, about 100 trucks are stuck inside the lorry stand and unable to come out as the gate is locked besides causing problems to transport essential commodities which have arrived in goods trains.
Mysore/Mysuru: The official car of
Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner was attached by the Court Ameen Manjunath and other staff for non-payment of compensation to a farmer whose land was acquired in 1997.
Armed with the Court order, the Ameen and others arrived at the MUDA Office this morning and met Commissioner Dr.D.B. Natesh over MUDA’s failure to pay compensation to farmer despite the Court’s order. When the Commissioner reportedly failed to give satisfactory reply to the Court staff, the Ameen said he would not only attach the Commissioner’s official car but also four other cars of MUDA officials. However, the keys of MUDA Commissioner’s car were not handed over the Court staff.
