Dubai, 17th April, 2021 (WAM) The ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign, which aims to provide food parcels to disadvantaged communities across 20 countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, achieved 78 percent of its target within the first week its launch.
The campaign raised over AED78 million, equivalent to providing more than 78 million meals, as massive donations continue to pour in from individuals, companies and entities inside and outside the UAE.

DUBAI, 17th April, 2021 (WAM) Under the directives of H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai,, and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UAE Food Bank, the UAE Food Bank has launched a campaign to distribute 50,000 meals and food parcels to underprivileged individuals and families during Ramadan.
The campaign, which seeks to distribute surplus food to those in need, is being implemented in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) and a food app-based service called ‘Nefsy’, which provides individuals an opportunity to share meals with others in need upon ordering through the app.

Low-income families, refugees, orphans and widows in Jordan, Egypt and Pakistan have started receiving food parcels that enable them to prepare their own meals throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
