A sealed indictment for second-degree murder has been issued against a Cheatham County man in connection with a January overdose death in a Springfield parking lot.

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Back in January of this year a welfare check for an individual in a parked vehicle at 5th and Memorial Blvd resulted in a grim discovery. The driver was deceased. The cause of death, according to Springfield Police, was an apparent fentanyl overdose.
During the July 2021 term of the Robertson County Grand Jury, a true bill with a sealed indictment was issued for Daniel Ray West, 37, a Greenbrier native, for second-degree murder in the case.

The indictment was the result of an investigation led by the Springfield Police Department Narcotics Division and the District Attorney’s Office. The indictment alleges that Daniel West sold and delivered fentanyl to the victim in the parking lot of the Tennessee Quick Cash in January of 2021. The victim had overdosed and was found deceased by Springfield Police Department after they received a 911 call for a welfare check.

ROBERTSON COUNTY, Texas The Robertson County Sheriff s Office is asking you to be on the lookout for a missing 6-year-old from Calvert.
Authorities said Legend Mourning, 6, was taken from his home around 6:13 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of West Mitchell.
They said they believe Mourning was taken by Johnell Hickman, 29. Hickman is believed to be driving a black four-door sedan.
Authorities said they believe Mourning to be in danger and are asking the public to help find them. Mourning was last seen wearing a blue and red Spiderman shirt, blue shorts and had on one blue and green shoe.
Robertson Sheriff creates new juvenile service division to work with children, teens
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office has created a new juvenile service division to support local children and teens.
The division will build upon the positive relationships between juveniles and law enforcement while also developing programs that hold juveniles accountable for their actions, prevent juveniles from engaging in patterns of delinquency and provide a safe and secure atmosphere within the schools that is conducive for learning, according to a press release issued by the sheriff.
It will consist of the current School Resource Officer Division and a Juvenile Outreach Division.
