Bucks Co. Gets Bigger Vaccine Shipment - Bensalem, PA - After getting just over 13,000 doses the week before, Bucks County's shipment last week was more generous. See who got the most doses.
Now, for the uncertain news.
The county wants to open a site planned at the St. Luke s Quakertown Campus, and a sixth site soon in Central or Lower Bucks to offer at least 15,000 vaccinations a week. The county also wants to meet Gov. Wolf s ambitious plan of scheduling all 1A vaccine appointments by March 28.
But without enough vaccine or a predictable flow, it simply cannot, county leaders said Monday. Like the governor, we share the frustrations of residents who have waited many weeks in vain for a vaccination appointment, Bucks County commissioners said in a statement. But just scheduling a date does not assure when the vaccine will be there for them.
Carrelli and his wife, Lynn, care for Francis. They say they never go out and have everything delivered. They even have a sanitizing station in the garage. But they can’t find a way to get him vaccinated.
“It’s frustrating that we can physically protect our homebound family and friends to a certain degree, Carrelli said. We can’t protect them to the degree a vaccine can protect them.”
The director of the Bucks County Health Department, Dr. David Damsker, says it’ll be a month or two before they’ll be able to vaccinate the homebound.
“We will get a list together of people that require this kind of service. It’s very labor intensive obviously,” Dr. Damsker said.

With new case numbers flat, Bucks County officials expect bigger weekly shipments of the coronavirus vaccine from now on. (Shutterstock)
BUCKS COUNTY, PA Health officials in Bucks County hope to double the number of shots given at their coronavirus vaccination clinics this week after receiving bigger shipments of the vaccine.
The Bucks County Health Department got nearly 4,700 doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the state last week. That was after getting none the previous week, when winter storms made travel difficult.
Bucks officials say they plan to give 400 doses of the vaccine daily at each of three clinics on Bucks County Community College campuses. That would amount to an additional 6,000 shots this week.
