RCDHU reporting 21 new cases of COVID-19 in the past two days

Article content The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is reporting 12 new cases of COVID-19 today, in addition to nine new cases on Thursday. It is also reporting that 11 additional cases are now considered resolved. On Jan. 8, the dashboard on the RCDHU website showed 243 of the total 276 cases of COVID-19 considered resolved, with one death attributed to the coronavirus early on in the pandemic. There are 32 active cases in Renfrew County and district. The Jan. 7 case summary, which was added to the RCDHU website late in the day, showed 26 individuals were self-isolating. There were seven active cases in Petawawa (down from nine on Jan. 4), six in Madawaska Valley (a change of less than five on Jan. 4) and between one and four active cases in Pembroke, Laurentian Valley, Whitewater Region, Renfrew, Greater Madawaska, Deep River, Bonnechere Valley (which are new since it didn’t have any active cases as of Jan. 4) and Admaston/Bromley.

Article content There are four new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Renfrew County and district today. The Renfrew County and District Health Unit updated the website dashboard Dec. 29 to show 232 confirmed cases, up for from 228 on the Dec. 28 update and 219 resolved cases, which is one more than the previous day, leaving 12 active cases in RCD, with at least eight self-isolating. The locations and details of the latest cases will be unknown until the next case summary update. Because the case summary now provides more detailed case information, such as municipality-level data, the RCDHU has chosen to update the case summary twice a week to reduce inaccurate assumptions or reporting of case details and protect the privacy of residents living in RCD, according to a note on the health unit website.

Article content As of noon on Dec. 27 The Renfrew County and District Health Unit is reporting a total number of 228 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Renfrew County and district since the pandemic began, up from 221 on Dec. 23. According to the case summary posted Sunday on the RCDHU website at noon, 205 of the 228 cases now resolved with one death attributed to the coronavirus early on in the pandemic. The summary from the 23rd shows two additional community cases bringing the total to 164 and one additional student case bringing the total school cases to 24 (10 staff members and 14 students). There have also been 30 cases among health-care workers, including 12 employed outside of RCD and three residents of long-term/care retirement residences.
