Austin weather forecast for Thursday: Record-level heat, party sunny skies

The National Weather Service outlook calls for partly sunny skies with a high of 83 degrees, which would match the heat record for Austin on this date, set in 1957. Austin has hit 80 degrees or more on Feb. 4 only a handful of times: 83 degrees in 1957 80 degrees in 1962 and 2008 It actually hit 79 degrees on Feb. 4 last year, which ended up being Austin s third-warmest year ever. The cold front will sweep the clouds away to make nighttime mostly clear and allow temperatures to cool down to around 46 degrees, forecasters say. North-northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph could include gusts of up to 25 mph. The weather service s extended forecast calls for a return to seasonably brisk winter temperatures:

Monday forecast for Austin: February begins with sunshine, high of 63

January weather seesawed between spring-like high temperatures in the upper 70s to freezing nights, including once with a couple of inches of snow! But February is starting out actually rather seasonable with an expected high of 63 in Austin. The National Weather Service outlook calls for sunshine with light winds from the north to make it a little bit brisk. At night, skies should be mostly clear with temperatures slipping to as low as 36. The weather service s extended forecast includes much warmer temperatures before a dry cold front Thursday night reminds us it is still winter: Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 66. Mostly clear at night with a low around 43.

Austin weather forecast for Friday: Sunshine, mild temps in upper 60s

Friday forecast for Austin: Happy Friday! And to celebrate, Mother Nature is bringing out the sunshine, giving us mild winter temperatures and keeping the clouds away until nighttime. Skies should be mostly sunny with temperatures climbing into the upper 60s, the National Weather Service says. That s only a few degrees above normal for this time of year  which is nice after seeing temperatures seesaw all month between the 70s and the 30s. More clouds will roll in at night, forecasters say, but warm south-southeast winds will help keep overnight temperatures above 56 degrees. The weather service s weekend forecast and extended outlook calls for warmer than normal temperatures before another dry cold front pushes temperatures back down to more seasonable levels:
